Last game coming for arena...

Auburn University's 41 year old Beard Eaves Memorial Coliseum will hold it's final basketball contest on Wednesday, against the Mississippi St. Bulldogs at 7 p.m. central time. It's a bitter-sweet affair for most AU fans. Beard Eaves has been home to many, many great games and more great players than one could count. Auburn is leaving it's old stomping grounds though for a much more up to date basketball facility. This one will have two full court practice areas, a weight room, 12 suites and larger, better offices for the coaches inside the arena. On top of all that, the arena will house aproximatly 9600 fans in a more intimate setting, that will put the fans closer to the court. The new arena should make for a louder, more intimidating atmosphere for opposing teams, but will also be more up to date and fan friendly away from the court.
