AU receives first commitment of 2011...

On the first day after the 2010 signing day, the Tigers picked up their first commitment of the 2011 recruiting class. Izauea Lanier, of East Mississippi C.C. recommitted to play for the Auburn Tigers. Lanier signed with the Tigers out of Gordo, AL in the 09 class, but failed to make it in academically. He went the Juco route and improved his academic standing. He plans to graduate and enroll at Auburn in December. When he does, he will have three years to play three as he wants to redshirt this year at East MS C.C.

Lanier was a very good safety prospect coming out of high-school in Gordo. (AU Hardcores know this to be the hometown of former AU athletic director David Housel.) He was a 3 star prospect on most of the rankings sites and was known to be a very good tackler and very athletic. He should add solid depth to Auburn's safety position in the fall of 2011.
